HealthPartners Presents over $7,000,000 to 16 National Health Charities

OTTAWA: At HealthPartners’ annual cheque presentation to its members Eileen Dooley, CEO HealthPartners presented over $7 million dollars to its member charities in Toronto on November 20, 2014. “With over 87% of Canadian most likely being affected by chronic disease or major illness in their lifetime it is wonderful to see the generosity of Canadians to help,” said Ms. Dooley. “These donations will help fund treatments, cures, support programs, education and prevention in our community through our 16 members. I am extremely proud HealthPartners is able to work with such great organizations and create workplace giving opportunities for them.” HealthPartners presented the following cheques to:
- The Alzheimer’s Society for $801,815.20
- ALS Canada for $174,221.74
- The Arthritis Society for $286,041.03
- Canadian Cancer Society for $2,135,023.27
- Canadian Diabetes Association for $651,917.77
- Canadian Hemophilia Society for $59,191.85
- Canadian Liver Foundation for $129,575.98
- Crohn’s & Colitis Canada for $311,136.31
- Cystic Fibrosis Canada for $159,463.75
- Heart & Stroke Foundation for $1,020,551.44
- Huntington Society of Canada for $78,276.27
- The Kidney Foundation of Canada for $231,102.68
- The Lung Association for $193,322.14
- Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada for $435,113.12
- Muscular Dystrophy Canada for $100.149.71
- Parkinson Society of Canada for $249,425.04
These amounts represent pledges from 2012 HealthPartners Campaigns that were collected in 2013. HealthPartners workplace giving campaigns take place in government and private sector employers across Canada and focus on creating healthy workplace through employee engagement and access to health information.
