Ottawa, Ontario. HealthPartners Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of three new member-nominated directors to its Board: Mary Ann Butt, Senior VP for Heart & Stroke, Newfoundland, NS, and PEI; Robert Eardley, Retired Senior Director, Air Canada; and Allan Smofsky, Toronto-based health benefits consultant.

“We are very much looking forward to working with these new Directors,” said Board Chair Debra Lynkowski. “All three are passionate about helping HealthPartners fulfill our vision of building healthy workplaces, healthy Canadians and healthy charities.”

In 2018, HealthPartners embarked on a new phase of its evolution with an updated governance structure. A renewed Board of Directors was established, composed of six nominees from HealthPartners member organizations as well as five external directors from the public and private sectors. A second body was also created, the HealthPartners Members’ Council, consisting of one representative from each of the 16 national health charities that are the members of HealthPartners.

The newest Directors were elected at the HealthPartners Annual General Meeting on January 16, 2020. Outgoing directors Louis Adam, Andrew Burditt and Jeffrey Hoffman were warmly thanked for their valuable contributions over the past several years.
