Chloé Allard

Meet Chloé Allard. Chloé lives with Crohn’s disease.

The symptoms first appeared when she was 12 years old. “I was just starting high school and found it really stressful,” recalls Chloé.

At this pivotal period in life, when others discover freedom, Chloé was housebound. “I lost a lot of weight and had stomach aches. I spent my all my time at home. I avoided going out and started having diarrhea,” says Chloé. Her parents took her to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.

“Living with Crohn’s is a real challenge. You have to take all kinds of medications, you get stomach aches, you’re constantly running to the bathroom, and you have no energy,” explains Chloé.

“Thanks to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, I was able to meet people who have the same disease as me. This helped me see that I wasn’t alone and that I could deal with this.”

After trying many different medications, thanks to research, Chloé finally found one that effectively controlled her inflammation, allowing her to once again enjoy life.

“Today I can do anything I want: I go dancing, I travel and I’m always looking for new challenges because I want to show that I too can lead a normal life. My name is Chloé Allard and I am living proof that donating to HealthPartners works.”
