Canadians Invited to Join New Network to Improve Healthcare
- HealthPartners Launches the Health Advisory Network: An Initiative Empowering People in Canada to Transform Healthcare
- Network Pays Canadians to Share their Health Experiences
Ottawa, ON – HealthPartners today announced the launch of the Health Advisory Network, a first-of-its-kind national initiative bringing together people affected by any health condition and their caregivers to share their experiences, discuss challenges, and collaborate on solutions to improve healthcare in Canada. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute through quick online surveys and consultations—and be paid for their valuable time and insights.
The Health Advisory Network aims to address health challenges spanning workplaces, healthcare systems, and health-specific issues by fostering a united, impactful community of voices. This initiative recognizes that over 45% of Canadians live with at least one major chronic health condition, 2.5 million Canadians report having unmet healthcare needs, and one in two Canadians will act as caregivers in their lifetime.[i] [ii] The Health Advisory Network creates a platform for these individuals to shape the future of healthcare through their lived experiences.
“Our healthcare system faces complex challenges, and the people who experience it firsthand—those living with health conditions and their caregivers—can help find meaningful solutions,” said Kimberley Hanson, CEO of HealthPartners. “The Health Advisory Network amplifies these voices, giving Canadians the chance to be heard, to connect with others, and to directly influence decisions that will shape the future of healthcare for everyone.”
Brock Carlton, a member of the Parkinson’s community who lives with the condition, emphasized the importance of this initiative. “Living with Parkinson’s has taught me how critical it is for the healthcare system to truly listen to those it serves. The Health Advisory Network is a powerful way to bring people together to create meaningful change. It’s about more than sharing our challenges—it’s about working toward real solutions that benefit us all.”
Participation in the Health Advisory Network is open to all people living in Canada affected by any health condition as a patient or as a caregiver. Sign-up is quick and easy, and all participants will be paid for their time spent responding to surveys or participating in consultations. Surveys and consultations are conducted entirely online, ensuring accessibility from anywhere in Canada.
Insights gathered from the surveys will be compiled into comprehensive reports, shedding light on common health challenges. These reports will provide invaluable data to inform healthcare improvements, identify systemic gaps, and drive actionable solutions that benefit individuals, workplaces, and the broader healthcare system.
