BOOKKEEPER


Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reports To: CFO
Department: Finance
Purpose: Provide support to the Accounting Manager by administering day-to-day finance tasks, while complying with the organization’s values.

 
Responsibilities and Tasks


The Bookkeeper is primarily responsible to:
 Review and process all financial transactions (AP/AR, etc.) on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies and procedures.
 Make bank deposits
 Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
 Maintains files, both current and archived, including filing of general ledger journals, accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation, and other miscellaneous filings.
 Service vendor, donor or employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.


The Bookkeeper is additionally responsible to:
 Assist in the verification of ledger entries.
 Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
 Provide support in the preparation of T2200 and T3010 forms and charitable tax receipts
 Update Microsoft Dynamics CRM with donor information and cash receipts


Knowledge


The Bookkeeper will actively and consistently demonstrate knowledge of:
 Accounting program GP Dynamics 2015
 Knowledge of Excel and Word at an intermediate to advanced level
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM would be considered an asset
 Excellent communication skills written and oral in English, French is considered an asset.

Entry Qualifications


A successful candidate for the role of Bookkeeper has the following formal training:
 1-2 years related experience
 Successful completion of a college certificate in bookkeeping or accounting program
 Related experience in a non-profit environment preferable
